The Free Methodist Church in Thessaloniki, Greece has met in the Thessaloniki city center since 2003, 50 meters from the site of the ancient marketplace where the Apostle Paul once preached. Its ministries include the Anagenesis Internet Bookstore, hospitality and aid through the Balkan Home and an NGO aid organization, Anagenesis Balkans. The Thessaloniki Balkan Church includes Greek members and many from Bulgaria, Albania, Africa, and other languages. The vision is for multi-lingual congregation to birth many other ethnic congregations.
Pray for:
- the growing congregation in Thessaloniki, whose ministries reach beyond the city itself to touch the lives of people throughout the Balkans
- God's hand over the various ministries of the local congregation, the Anagenesis Balkans nongovernmental organization, the Christian bookstore, the Balkans Home, teaching English evangelism, cafe relationship development, youth club and other ministries
- complete religious freedom from prejudices and restrictions for church existence and operation
- a leadership team that would include Greek, Bulgarian,
Albanian, and African pastors
